Guyo Running & Cycling Club
An active holiday in the Vendée
Managed by true sports enthusiasts, it was only natural for our 5-star campsite in Vendée to offer athletic activities to its guests. Road cycling, mountain biking (MTB), and running: three disciplines open to everyone, from serious athletes to the simply curious.
Five outings are organised every week, and over the years, the number of participants has steadily grown. Thus, the Guyo Running & Cycling Club was born. In 2025, the campsite's Strava account was launched, allowing club members to follow group news throughout the season. A real community has formed, where "sharing" is the golden rule of the Guyo Running & Cycling Club.
The principle is simple: volunteers meet at 9:00 am and head off together for a sporty nature outing in the heart of the Vendée.
You will find the Guyo Running & Cycling Club outings in the campsite’s weekly entertainment programme.

Running from the campsite
Mondays and Thursdays are for running. Piet and Thys take you on a 10-kilometre route between trail and road, around Lac du Jaunay. Halfway through, the group can split in two: a "hill" option or a "flatter" option. The group reunites 1 kilometre later to finish the run and return to the campsite together.
Running outings are open to all levels and for ages 16+. The only prerequisite: being able to run 10 kilometres without stopping to walk. The outing is organised so that everyone can run at their own pace.
Lac du Jaunay Loop
This 12.7 km loop around Lac du Jaunay offers a running route that is as enjoyable as it is varied. Between open viewpoints over the lake, shaded woodland paths, and stretches through untouched nature, the trail alternates between different atmospheres and landscapes throughout the run.
The terrain is also diverse: smooth sections, dirt tracks, and more technical passages with roots and stones. Some portions, particularly between the Savarière dam and Le Pré, require a bit more focus with several sharper climbs and descents.
An ideal route for runners looking to combine physical effort with total immersion in the landscapes of Lac du Jaunay.

Road Cycling
On Tuesdays, Thys leads a beautiful 50-kilometre cycling loop. A rolling route with 450 metres of elevation gain, averaging between 29 and 32 km/h depending on the group.
From the campsite, you head west through the villages of Saint-Julien-des-Landes, Martinet, and Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche. You cross the Jaunay river heading north towards Maché, where you cross the Vie river. Following the water further north to Apremont, you switch banks to head back south. You pass through Coëx before reaching Lac du Jaunay. After one final climb back to the campsite, a refreshing drink awaits you on the bar terrace for a well-deserved break.
Road cycling is for amateur cyclists aged 16+. Good physical fitness and regular cycling practice are recommended.
MTB
Two MTB outings are offered on Wednesdays and Fridays. You can rent a bike directly at the campsite’s bike hire hut, which serves as the meeting point.
On Wednesdays, the ride is for beginners (16+) with a 25-kilometre loop towards Lake Gué Gorand. Expect about 2 hours of effort with a break halfway.
On Fridays, a slightly more technical 34-kilometre ride is available for intermediate and advanced levels. This 1.5-hour outing takes you through countryside lanes and trails around Lac du Jaunay.
