Travelling from the UK? Reaching the Atlantic coast of the Vendée and Camping La Guyonnière couldn’t be simpler — whether you come by ferry, train, or car. From the main ferry ports in northern France, it’s just a few hours’ drive to our campsite, making it a convenient option for British families who want a relaxing camping holiday in France without the hassle of flying.

From sunrise to starlight, there’s never a dull moment at our family campsite La Guyonnière.

For children: Start mornings with our beloved tractor tour around the campsite, then join the daily kids’ club (July-August) for crafts, games, and treasure hunts. Visit our farm animals – goats, rabbits, and alpaca – or enjoy pony rides through the grounds. Evenings end with the energetic mini disco on our main stage.

For active guests: Join owners Thys and Piet for morning runs around Lac du Jaunay, or try aqua gym classes in the pool. Challenge fellow campers at football and volleyball tournaments, play tennis, or cycle the extensive Vendée routes with our bike rental service.

For everyone: Unwind at happy hour in our Irish-style bar featuring live music 2-3 evenings weekly. Indulge in our spa facilities – sauna, hammam, and professional massages. Watch major sports events on big screens while enjoying local wines.

From the 8-km sandy beach at Saint‑Jean‑de‑Monts to the lively atmosphere at Les Sables‑d’Olonne, and the authentic fishing-port charm of Saint‑Gilles‑Croix‑de‑Vie, visitors will find a mix of wide surf-friendly shores, calm family-friendly zones and vibrant promenades.

Back-coast activities, visits and outings in the Vendée hinterland

Beyond the shoreline, the Vendée invites you to explore lush landscapes, historic sites and outdoor adventures. Cycle or stroll through the pine-forested dunes, marshlands and waterways of the interior.
