This reservoir is home to many fish, birds, and other animals. Don’t forget your camera during your hike, as you might come across an otter or tawny owl! Along the way, you’ll completely relax surrounded by nature.
The hiking trail runs around the lake and is approximately 8 kilometers long. The paths are easy to walk and therefore suitable for children. It takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes to walk around the lake. It’s just a short walk from the campsite! It’s about 300 meters to the lake.
Need a rest along the way? There are picnic tables and benches along the hiking trails around Lac du Jaunay. Bring your own picnic, listen to the birds, and completely relax in the green and wooded area.

Do you like to combine a walk on the beach with a visit to a bustling port city? Then a walk in Sables-d’Olonne is ideal!
The nautical capital of the Côte de Lumière is very popular among tourists because of its lively atmosphere and beautiful beaches. The bay in which the city is located is known as one of the most beautiful bays in the world! Definitely worth a visit. In Sables-d’Olonne, you can enjoy a walk on the beaches and the lively promenade.
Within a 30-minute drive from the campsite, you’ll already be in Sables-d’Olonne and can start your hike.
A beautiful walk through Marais de l’Île d’Olonne
Near the coastal town of Sables-d’Olonne lies the marshland of Marais de l’Île d’Olonne. This is a beautiful natural area with well-marked paths. You can follow different routes here. There are walks of 5.5 kilometers but also of 14 kilometers. There is a suitable walk for every level.
There is much to see and discover in the area. The nature, for example, is very popular among migratory birds. You can spot as many as 180 different bird species here. Bring your binoculars and spot the birds yourself in this nature reserve. How many different bird species will you encounter?
