If you're staying by the Atlantic Ocean in the summer, you’ll enjoy a mild maritime climate. This means that summers are delightfully warm, but not excessively hot thanks to the refreshing sea breeze. In July and August, temperatures range between 20 and 27 degrees Celsius. It’s perfect weather for the beach, but also for a wide variety of outdoor activities such as surfing, which is very popular in this region.

The French Atlantic coast is a favourite destination among holidaymakers in summer due to its pleasant climate and many hours of sunshine. Our nature campsite is ideally located in Saint-Julien-des-Landes, close to the seaside resorts of Les Sables d’Olonne, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, and Brétignolles-sur-Mer. These towns are well-known for their stunning beaches and the wide range of activities they offer.

What to do during your holidays on the Atlantic Coast of France?

The Atlantic Coast in France is, of course, famous for its beautiful beaches and islands. From the campsite, you can have your feet in the sand in under 10 minutes. Build beautiful sandcastles, dive into the blue water, take a surfing lesson, and unwind with a good book in a beach chair. Now that’s a real holiday!

Near the campsite, you’ll also find a beautiful lake – the Lac du Jaunay – where you can enjoy water sports, fishing, swimming, and much more.

The surroundings of the French Atlantic coast are also ideal for cycling and hiking. The terrain is relatively flat, so there’s a route for every fitness level. It also makes it easy for children to join in on a cycling adventure. Explore forests, ride along the coastline, and discover the charming villages in the area. Bikes are available to rent directly at the campsite.

There are plenty of activities for children too. Take them to Puy du Fou, an extraordinary theme park. There, you can watch amazing shows based on key moments in history.
